Tuesday Afternoon.

I am excited because I am going to get my red wall at last!
Jeramey and Jennifer were just here with Sofia after having
taken her to get her picture taken. She did not cooperate
and they were all dressed to the nines. Jeramey has gone
home to change clothes and will be back soon. Sofia was
very good here but has her nights and days are sort of mixed
up. She is a precious baby and pretty as a little doll.

It is finally cool enough to bake and I made two coconut pies.
One for my family because Adrienne came over and requested
one. I used a lot of cream in the pie filling and it was so
good.

Ted is better today and up moving around more. He needs to
do so because he is going have to get those joints lubricated.
I am walking again now that it is not over a hundred degrees outside. It seems like a miracle just to be cool.

When I got up this morning, it was cool enough for a sweatshirt. It looked funny to see people in jackets
after this heat wave.

I am going to stop and eat lunch. I am having potato soup
which is my favorite.

Yes, we are enjoying having a blog friend become a real friend.

Glad to hear Ted is doing better and it's cooling off.

It is hard to cope with pain all of the time but he has never gotten grumpy.

I send Ted best wishes to keep getting better. You have to post a pic of your new red wall when you get it. Our weather easing off too but we are getting side effects of Katia -- and the wind and rain have been heavy all day. Counting my blessings though.

The nice thing about rain is that it is an ideal time to read and relax or bake. I am inventing a caramel cake. I will post the recipe if it turns
out well.

I'm sending a rain storm your way, hope it gets there.

Send it quickly. Our plants are perking up and I fertilized them when the
weather got better.

I boiled enough squash to freeze 10 bags yesterday then baked (Yup, although Donna forms the crusts--I hate the pastry station) an apple pie followed by a roast beef, just to warm the house. Now if only we could get the rain to stop. The area is looking at a second flood after Irene only 9 days ago. Can't beat the weather. Enjoy the cool! I still can't imagine all those days of 100+.

I looked at those recipes. Donna is still doing low carb so most of them don't work for her.

Yellow crooked neck squash is my favorite vegetable. Try the squash casserole that Laura posted. I like green chili's in it.

Good to hear that Ted is better. When do you take your trip there?

We don't go until November l4 so there is plenty of time to do what you
have to. Rex has to have his shots November 1st so he can board. I am
going to pack him up some raw hide bones this time.

So glad, too, for cooler weather! I'm resurrecting my walking plans as well. Good news about your dreamed for wall and especially nice to hear that Ted is better. Yay!

I love being out in the evening and looking at different yardscapes. I have
the limitation of tree roots snaking around in the grass so I put in a rock
garden to cover them up.
