Thoughts for the Day

The political situation is depressing beyond belief. Why
is no one held accountable for clear violations to the
Constitution? I am more vocal than I have ever been but
it is depressing because no one of our elected officials
appears to give credence to our voices.

In the meantime, I am breakfasting on left over fajitas
from yesterday's lunch with my brother and sister in law.
I do not like conventional breakfast foods. I detest
eggs because I had to eat so many as a child.

I am pondering what to serve to my investment club when it
meets here on Wed. Will it be pecan pie or lemon lush?
We like to eat so we always have dips, chips and nuts and
beverages. I need to clean beforehand also.

Jose and Rex continue to brighten our lives. I am so grateful for their unconditional love. Their antics keep
us laughing.

Ted and I went to a funny play last Thursday at the Jewel
Box Theater. It was Thirty Seven Cards about a family
who lived in an alternate reality because reality was
simply too harsh. I could sympathize.

Spring is teasing us with a few warm days. I can't wait
to start walking again and working in the yard. Walking
Jose is a bummer because his little short legs make him
slow, plus he has to sniff every single blade of grass
and then pee 49 times per our three block walk.

Good luck and happiness to all my friends!!

P. S. Mike writes me that they have had 24 inches of snow over the
weekend. Of course he and Fredo are used to it and the city plows it
promptly. But still.....

The winds and warmer weather blew away every bit of snow and ice. Only a week ago my steep upper drive was pure ice. It feels like spring out there, and I washed the cars at home yesterday.

I am glad that you have some respite from the cold. It helps!!

We are having unseasonably warm weather, in the high 70s and 80s. Normally, it would be 60s and lower at night. Glad you are enjoying the dogs. I told Ed I'd like not to have to wait for the holidays to see Buster and maybe we could invite ourselves over to Jean's on a weekend so I could hug him.

I wondered about Buster. You walked him for so long and I know you got
attached to him. I am relishing our few scraps of warm weather.

We just had that big snowfall, but right before it a few days of unreasonably warm weather. So the rosebush stems poking through the snow had a couple of tiny leaves that had just sprouted. Always something different.

I have leaves on my rose bushes too. My yard needs so much work and I
need new porch furniture. Can't wait to get started.

Winter is screwing us big time, but at least it's almost mid-February and the sun is warm and without a base of ice it will melt quickly when the weather finally turns warm. Of course there's enough snow on the ground now to cause water problems if it melts during heavy rain, but that's beyond my control--i do have a 2" pump. Oh, and I test planted some seeds from least years harvest to be sure they are viable. Wal-Mart already had seeds on sail and it seems that they don't resupply when they run out. So next trip I'll have to buy what I need. That is to say, the seeds sprouted this morning!
Be well,

The boyz from New Hampshire, aka Mike and Fredo, just sent me a picture
of their winter wonderland. They have a big garden too. So glad your
seeds are alive. We may all need a mini garden this year if we don't get
produce from Mexico.
