We had a lovely time in Wichita with our friends and we did a lot of things, like going to estate sales, museums, the salt mines and eating at the Amish restaurant in Yoder, Kansas, and Sunday at Furrs which is a tradition.
It was twenty degrees cooler there than it is here and we kind of froze. It is hard to believe that it would be 50 there and three hours away it is 73 degrees.
I got good loot for my birthday, Pearls from Ted and a plant and a silicone cupcake pan that makes a dozen cupcakes from Ruth and Dallas. Celeste baked me an apple pie and had it for me wh en I came home. The kids called and I will have more when I see them and it will probably be bath products since they are not imaginative present givers.
I came home and put the plant in a bigger planter and watered and fertilized it a little. It is in bloom and so pretty.
Ruth is not doing well and I felt bad because she did so much for us. I helped as much as I could. She is having trouble with her colon now...I certainly hope the cancer has not moved there. She had to rest every afternoon and said that she had to take two loratabs and a morphine tablet just to take the edge off of the pain in the mornings. Her hands shake a lot but the medication does not make her confused. I can't wait to catch up on reading blogs but will do it in the morning.
Bye from Jeri
