Snow Leopards

The Oklahoma City Zoo is keeping two snow leopard cubs in hiding for the time being but they posted pictures of them in today's paper. They are 3 months old and need this time out of the limelight with their mother. They are both males and weigh approximately l5 pounds.

I have yet to see more adorable kittens but I suppose they should be called cubs. There were pictures of them lolling in the vets arms. It made a cat lover like me just want to cuddle them. The article stated that they were safe to handle now but in a few months their play would be too much for a person as their play is very rough and their teeth
already razor sharp.

There are only about 3,500 to 7,000 left in Central Asia in
the wild. We won't get to keep ours. They will be sent to
other zoos who need them. They are able to adapt to our warmer climate. We plan to go and see them before they are sent away.

The fox has been around a lot lately, hanging around the yard as if waiting for a squirrel dinner to run by. It was watching Mr. Tbend working at the red cabin the other day and followed him back over here. I doubt he is going to make it through the winter, and it will be hard to say goodbye when I leave, but nothing can be done.

Where is my comment? Was here last night. What I said was that yes, they are so very adorable as kittens. I think maybe God/ nature made all babies beautiful to help each species survive.

Oh lady you are so right! Our pet's are in our "cages" aka homes. GREAT point.... I think that's what PETA is pushing actually... it's true tho. Good point!

Our Angel wasn't safe for me to handle when she was a kitten and I've got the scars to prove it.

I feel your pain. China had razor sharp teeth too.

I hope they get to go to a progressive zoo with open spaces for them to run in.

I hope so too. I am glad they are getting this time to bond with their
mom.

Yes, but they will be safe and well fed. Leopards are preyed upon by the
other big cats and if they disappear in the wild, we will at least have breeding pairs left.

I feel for animals in zoos... I know some zoos are out to help, and that's great, but I can't imagine a life lived completely enclosed...

It is sad to have to live enclosed lives but then our dogs and cats that we
love and live with are restricted to a degree. I would never let a cat
stay out because there are too many predators. Our dogs don't take to the wild as well as cats but I am sure Kraymer and Rex want to be with us most
of the time.
