Smoking Hot

No, this is not about a smoking hot girl or guy. It is about an act of stupidity. I was making bacon cheeseburgers
last night and had put the bacon under the broiler for a fast and crisp product. I placed it on paper towels but forgot to turn off the oven and also forgot that I had left
pizza in the oven from the night before. We didn't realize
what the problem was until the house got pretty smokey.

I hate these senior moments. I used to have the memory of
an elephant but it is gone. I can't multi task like I used
to be able to do either.

So, this morning I am faced with charred pizza. I hope it
didn't ruin the pizza pan. This is not a pleasant task to
look forward to.

We take our feet for granted but let me tell you that they
give out on you too. Take care of them. Mine were disabled
with pointed toe high heel shoes. They are in fashion
again. Be fore warned and don't wear them every day.

Sheesh! No one ever told me these things would happen.

I miss wearing heels. I used to wear them to work everyday but since my scoliosis got so bad all I can wear now is tennis shoes.

Could you treat yourself to new pan? Life is too short to scrub charred pizza.I can't walk in high heels to save my life and now you've given me good reason not to.

Yes! yes!Yes!

I don't know why they're called "senior moments". When I was only 46 I left a pot of simmering water full of bottles, nipples and soothers, sterilizing, and went out shopping. There is nothing quite like the stench of burning silicone.

What a bummer! I even had to touch up the paint above the stove.

Donna has caught me leaving the burner on low after I remove the frying pan that I tend not to forget to check these days. But my memory used to be like yours: I could keep track of thousands of pieces of product at work, no I can't remember where I put things when I don't use them for a week. AARP does suggest brain exercises, but they haven't helped much if at all.

Yes, sometimes I do their puzzle on the back page. Actually I think it
helps more to get out of the house and see friends.

I don't wear high heels ever... Well, I think I have worn them a handful of times. But I still have bunions soooooo thanks for the advice!

Heed my advice, Sweetie. Those things kill your feet.

I still sometimes forget to remove some stored items in the oven when I start heating it. If my high heeled shoes have enough toe room, the height is not a problem. But I prefer lower heels anyway these days and if they are the right style, they suit me and what I'm wearing and I can walk anywhere. P.S. I have a triangular snap lid plastic container I put leftover pizza slices in.

Sometimes I still try high heels but they seem to thrust my toes forward
and I feel so unbalanced. I saw a bunch of weddings on tv and the brides
were wearing ballet shoes with dresses that covered them.

A couple of years ago I went through a time when my feet were very sensitive when I got up in the morning, not that heel spur thing, it was arthritis. Somehow it went away, and I haven't had it since, but I remember thinking it was a sign of getting old.

I paid 200.00 for a pair of orthotics and they have hardly helped and will only go in sneakers. Glad it went away for you and hope you have seen
the last of it.

Hope your pan is not ruined! I think we all have those 'senior moments' even if we are seniors. I have always hated high heeled shoes, bras, pantyhose and anything else tight or snug fitting. Of course, in recent years my figure has not promoted wearing snug fitting clothes!

People always say if your feet hurt, you hurt all over! I hate getting up to a mess in the kitchen. How do your new boots feel?
