Scanning the Blogs

Are we all at loss for a dearth of blogging material? I know that my life is slogging along with no excitement but
then that can be a good thing. I don't crave a crisis.

The grandchildren have had lots of activities. Adrienne had
a trumpet solo at Tuesday's band concert. Ashley is playing
soccer and I am looking forward to her games because I love
soccer. I am anxious to see if she is rough enough for the
sport.

I have been immersed in BBC and historical drama every night. Our library has lots of dvds and I just finished
Wives and Daughters last night. It was very good. I am
going to have to adjust my mind set because I also brought
home, "The heart is a Lonely Hunter" and "Women in Love"
which will get me back to the 2lst century.

Ted is finishing up his tiger painting. I am longing for
it to get warm enough to work in the yard. I need a lot of
new dirt for Rex's holes and to start tomatoes and peppers.
My mother used to plant veggies early and then put little
paper tents over them and I think I will use that method.
I had peppers all summer but my tomatoes didn't do well.

I am reading a witty and delightful book by Martha Grimes.
It is called "The Fadeaway Girls" and to appreciate it
you would have to read the Hotel Paradise series. I love
her Richard Jury mystery novels too.

I read The Heart is a Lonely Hunter after seeing the movie. It was a first novel, and I tracked down her other books, but didn't enjoy them as much.

I was here and read this. Thought I left a comment too! I did not know Ted painted. Guess you can't be talked into posting a picture of it?

Adrienne is first chair trumpet and she had her solo piece. I think she is
good. Ted has done some really good pictures but he is a perfectionist
and can't seem to stop when he is finished.

Women in Love is a real classic. I haven't started the other one yet. It is a treat that I give myself at the end of the day.

I haven't blogged lately because I have been busy - but I need to make the time to do it! I love Rex.

And Rex would love you. He is a love glutton.

My middle daughter played trumpet. I'm due to write a post on my "doin's", boring as they are. Enjoy your books and movies.

Sara plays the flute and she and Adrienne, despite the age difference, are
close because of their music.

Your living the good life. I had a "book club" session with some of my "ladies' lunch" group yesterday, poolside at my gtf's house. I'll write about it. I didn't know Ted painted. Why don't you post one of his pieces? Re. Adrienne, I played cornet in my high school band. Trumpets/cornets are not usually played by girls. Is she good? xx, T

I wish that I could cobble together a book group of congenial friends.
My antique group is not interested in reading anything other than books
about collectibles. They are all fun and I enjoy it a lot, however it
would be nice to have a book group.
