We had two estate sales and two neighborhood garage sales
so I alerted my sister in law. The James Bean estate sales
are superb and I was most anxious to get there. Knowing that
Nova is slow as molasses in January, I walked to the first
one that was only four blocks from my house. It was the best.
When we went back, I bid on the wheeled walker with the seat
and since I am familiar with the people who run it, they told
me to go ahead and get it. It is what our Dr. prescribed for
Ted so he could get a little exercise until he is better,
either by surgery or injection. It is a nifty little thing,
It has a seat with a zipper for money on the bottom, a basket
for purchases and four wheels. The VA gave him a wheel chair
instead which was stupid since he needs strength in his legs.
Nova purchased a pair of physicians scales which I wouldn't
have but which she wants for her new bathroom. Ted was captivated with them too. I hate ugly antiques. I scored a
copy of Answered Prayers by Truman Capote. He was certainly
in a snit when he wrote it and the editors said that he was
drugged out and an alcoholic by the time it came to fruition. Supposedly there are two missing chapters.
Bobby and I had some quality time together Saturday afternoon. He was gardening and I took him some Hosta
plants. He loves them but they are my least favorite
ones since their flowers are so unassuming. I like massive
blooms, preferably red. Since I am doomed to have a pink
house, I use pink flowers in front on the theory if you can't beat it, go with it.
Our local garden center gives advice and I certainly need
some. Squash bugs are horrible little creatures and have
to be quelled. They attack everything. Next year, I plan
to be more vigilant.
