We had the day from hell yesterday. Ted had two medical
appointments, one in Shawnee and one in Wewoka and Rex
had to be in Shawnee for teeth cleaning by 8:30. This
worked well but the appointment at the Indian Clinic in
Wewoka was at three and we had to wait so long there that
the Vet Clinic had to stay late so we could get our boy
and take him home. It was a very tense day to make all
the connections.
All is well that ends well and Rex greeted us wagging and
smiling, with dazzling white teeth. He is a little
sleepy but his shots were updated and he has a clean bill
of health.
Rex goes to the vet in Shawnee because they are very good
and much cheaper than in Oklahoma City. His total bill
for teeth cleaning, a pre-anasthesia check up and all his
shots including kennel cough was l97.00. I thought that
was extremely reasonable and he doesn't mind going there
at all. I have had dogs panic when they smell the medicinal
smell but Rex trots right in greeting everyone. He licked
a woman that he passed who was holding a small dog and it
was not appreciated but hey, he is a lover!
Ted went to Wewoka because the Seminole Indians recently
got a settlement and they have the money for dental care
for all tribes now. It isn't a bad trip, only an hour from
home.
I refused to keep Ashley yesterday because we had so much
to do. I am sure my dil is mad at me although I assured
her I could keep Ashley today. I had warned her that I
couldn't be expected to do anything on the 9th but she asked
anyway. School starts next Friday and Adrienne has already
started marching band in this heat. That and football
practice is insanity this early in the year.
