I don't agree with the two stars the critics gave this
movie. It was sad and funny and you felt good at the
end of it. I laughed and shed a tear or two as did the
rest of the audience. Ted loved it too.
Meryl Streep played a sad, repressed, bullied housewife
perfectly. Tommy Lee Jones was grouchy and mean and cheap.
I liked him much better in this role than most of the other
roles in which I have seen him. Maybe you just had to
have been married awhile to appreciate it.
The therapist was good too and the difficulty with their
assignments was hilarious. Her glasses and the cup holders
got in the way of movie sex and she told the therapist in
a woebegone way that she just couldn't perform an illegal
act in a movie theatre.
Don't let the critics keep you away. It is not action
adventure but it is life.
