Overdose

I have overdosed on HGTV today and find myself casting about
for something to re-do. I will absolutely never be finished.
My favorites are the Property Brothers but I could never
relinquish control of the design so I don't yearn to have
them tearing up my house. It is incredible to me that
these homebuyers could surrender all control. There must be
a huge financial incentive.

We had the carpet cleaned today, it was scheduled long before
Ted's accident. An off duty fireman did it. My friend,
Phyllis, gave me his number and he did a wonderful job. He
used to train labs and he really appreciated Rex. He told
me about seeing a Golden Retriever who was blind and still
hunted by voice commands. Of course they are aided by a
fabulous sense of smell and hearing. Rex can hear the refrigerator open and smell the food out in the back yard.
He has a big hole out of sight behind the garden shed but
that is permitted since it is his space and not visible from
the back porch.

Rex is not just your typical dumb blonde. He is a very
smart and well trained dog. We can tell him something once
and he remembers. Unlike my grandchildren.

sheesh -- still wading through E mails from September. Love Rex. Wish I could meet him. I like home renovations but like best when people are house hunting and the places they see. I will say that I rarely think the houses they are shown are all that great. Only if they are on water.

Sounds like my kid's dog, Max. Great dog!

I'd have to be pretty desperate to relinquish decorating control of my home. As much as I love the Property Brothers, I still reserve the right to be "outdated".

I love them and the way they see solutions. But we have to remember that
they usually have large budgets to work with whereas we are stuck with
small ones.

I just saw a bathroom decor hint on the FYI Channel: make your own concrete frame for the bathroom mirror (to give it a polished industrial look). They act like all we ever wanted out of life was one of these. Big hugs to Rex the Wonder Dog and Ted.

Personally, I hate polished concrete and the industrial look but to each
his own. These designers are so funny and the young couples going so
deeply into debt for those extravagant houses amaze me.

Unlike your grandchildren... I love HGTV. My mom and I watched a lot of it on her visit.

Me too. It is my weakness and I love the new HGTV magazine.

You usually make me laugh talking about Rex- like saying, "Rex is not just your typical dumb blonde." He truly sounds precious.

He is unique. The second best dog we have ever had in a long history of
dog ownership.

Rex sounds like a wonderful dog. We recently lost ours, but I'm waiting for the photo insertion thingie to get fixed before I blog about it.

Rex loves everyone and children most of all. His size is intimidating but
I have only heard him growl once or twice.
