Ode to the Ordinary

I am sitting around trying to think what I want to do next.
Cleaning out the garage comes to mind but it is a horrible
task, even though it would be a pleasure to have it vacant.
Ted's motorcycle is in there and a riding lawn mower. I
seriously doubt that he will ever be able to take a ride on
the motorcycle again because he is so unsteady on his feet.

Our yard is small, for which I am thankful. I would hate
to be taking care of a big one. My SIL is overwhelmed with
hers and it is no wonder. They have several acres to mow.

One of neighbors does landscaping. Her yard is beautiful
but the house next door to her has a front yard filled with
flowers without any thought to design or color. It drives
Pat crazy.

Rex has been on another digging spree. This time he got a
fast growing vine that I was trying to nurture. I dug it
out of his dirt and replanted it.

I planted a few vegetables and now I have little peppers,
squash and tomatoes. Hopefully, I have them blocked off
from his digging frenzies. Rex won't walk in places he
doesn't trust. He has yet to walk on the kitchen floor.
That black and white tile confounds him in some peculiar
doggy way.

Some dogs are so bad to dig, and I don't know of anything one can do to prevent it. Good luck with the garden. Are you getting rain this Spring? We were but it has ceased. We definitely need more.

brother Bubba had some seedlings in his house in a tray that he was raising to plant outdoors when the weather got better. Their cat Munchkin got into them and assasinated them. I think they managed to save one or two of the green beans

I have replanted the cypress vine twice. The last time I put bricks around
it. He loves being outside in darkness and that is when he digs.

I did some planting too--every squash, cuke, and bean seed I had--risky. It's about three weeks too early, but I'm feeling lucky. Enjoy your produce!

I hope to have fresh veggies in June which will be a month early for us.

Rex and the tile. Perhaps the contrast makes him think either the black or the white is A HOLE and he'll fall through. My kitties are afraid of the garage door and I am grateful. If it is open, they won't go in the garage at all. The big outside world scares them. If a cat is in the garage and and we don't know it and activate the door, the kitty will run for his life into the main house. Our garage is like a junkyard. Ed refuses to toss or sell furniture we will never use again. It makes finding a scared kitty very hard.

We will never use the riding lawn mower again and it is doubtful if Ted will
ever have the strength it takes for the motorcycle. Rex is also afraid to
go in the garage. He is a very neurotic dog and in his doggy brain there is
a fear of walking on the unusual.

Good old Rex.He sure keeps you hoping.Maybe something about the black color.
Or the white.Making him dizzy.

Rex is funny and he does keep us laughing. It must be some kind of optical
illusion that the pattern creates.

Hmm... think you could put a strip of black and white tiles in front of the garden? You guys here are just too energetic and busy. You put me to shame.

That is a thought, Dottie. I have a few left over.

He won't walk on the floor? That's interesting indeed! WAs he fine before you changed the tile?

Yes, I had to move his food and water to our bathroom. He wouldn't even
go in there to eat or drink. He was fine with the all white vinyl floor but
the black and white got to him.
