Keeping Cell Phones Charged

First let me say that I am far from a dedicated cell phone
person. I don't feel obligated to know where my family is
at any given moment. Yesterday, I wished that I had been
more vigilant.

I had been to the mall shopping for Ted and my route
goes down Key Blvd which is not the best area. I saw a
white, adult male in the yard fighting with about seven
black juveniles. It could have been harmless but it didn't
look that way to me. About a block past the altercation, I puilled over to call 911. My cell phone battery was dead.

I called when I got home about l5 minutes later but doubt
if it did a particle of good since the fight was probably over.

I realize now how negligent I was not keeping my phone
charged. Shame on me.

You could probably check Amazon for a car charger, typing in the make and model of your phone. Worth a try.

I always try to keep my phone charged in case I have a flat tire or car problems. It has saved me more than once.

It really is a great, life-saving convenience, except the for inconvenience of carrying it around and keeping it charged. It's a burden and a blessing.

It really is. I get aggravated at kids and grown ups alike who play with
their phones constantly and have to talk to each other every five minutes
but it is a convenience.

I am finally training myself to plug it in every night. Also, to remember to take it with me when I go out the door. One of my reasons is that I am not so confident that I won't get sick while I am out in the heat. Now that Ed has so many obligations due to his guardian duties (he gets a dozen calls a day from various facilities), he keeps his phone charged and attached to his belt. That's a big plus. It's a new way of functioning and I am slow to pick up on it.

I need to start this new habit of plugging in every night. I felt really horrible that I was unable to make a timely call when I needed to do so.

You might want to check your specific phone, but some of them, you can plug it into the car charger and use it right away. Hugs to all of you there.

I just have U.S. Cellular's inexpensive Doro phone with big numbers. Before I got it, it evidently belonged to a Mexican woman and I keep getting international calls on it. I don't have a car charger with it.

I charge mine every night if not more, but I use it all day everyday, so it's a bit of a different story. It's ALWAYS a good idea to make sure you have some life in it though. Thank goodness it wasn't you who needed the help ASAP.

So many people use a cell phone exclusively. I still cling to my land line.
I am still not with it these days.

Mine is always charged, but there are sections of the back roads where there is no service.

That is one reason that I never got addicted. Until three years ago, we
weren't near enough a signal to use one from home so we just used it when
we were out. I never relied on it then.

I am like you there! As a matter of fact, I did not plug mine into the charger until I saw this reminder that I was long overdue.

We need to keep them charged and I have learned my lesson well. The
curse is that mine stays up for 3 or 4 days and by the time I think about it,
it is useless. I am going to form the every night habit.
