Just Little Bits

I spent yesterday with Nova, my sister-in-law and a true friend. We were very daring and had a day of beauty at a
fancy spa. It was expensive and well worth it since we both
felt so good about ourselves afterward. I might add that
ordinarily neither of us pamper ourselves often but our
husbands both encouraged us to go.

Nova is a natural red head and looks like a typical Scot. She
is cute as a button, a very fun and compatible person. She
is also warm and generous and extremely creative. She draws,
does wood carving, paints and does all kinds of fabric art.
Halloween is her favorite holiday and she has made a soft
fabric witch with striped socks that is a life sized master-
piece. I love her dearly.

We were talking about funerals and I confided my wish to be
cremated and to have no funeral. Just a big party with lots
of food and drink and story telling. No religious service
at all. No mourning but maybe they could drink a toast and
say she was a fun person who really enjoyed life. Oddly
enough, she wanted the same thing.

We had lunch at Panera Bread and it was the worst salad
that I ever have had. The bread wasn't good either. I
think we probably have a very bad one...it must be some
kind of franchise because I have eaten at other ones that
were terrific.

I found some great boxes that look like books and I got
two. I put all of Ted's items that he needs close at
hand, (and their are gobs of them) inside one
of them and they certainly reduced the clutter in front of
the tv. I must say it was hard for him but he survived.

I must go and eat my peanut butter and pickle sandwich and
clean out the spice cabinet which is over flowing. Have
a wonderful last day of June.

It is good that you pamper yourself once in a while. You deserve it. The book-box sounds neat. Will have to keep that in mind for all of the stuff I accumulate.

Sounds like you had fun! I want chips and salsa and iced tea at my wake, with little cafe tables for people to sit at and chat a while.

Sounds good to me. Looking forward to seeing you soon. I had squash today.
Just a tiny bowl full all for me.

Peanut butter pickle sandwich??? Never heard of such a thing! Hope you enjoyed it. I am glad you took the time to pamper yourself. That will be my treat to my mom before she leaves from helping us out so much with the move.

It certainly does a body good to be pampered and your Mom will love it.
Peanut butter with dill pickle sandwiches are so very good and a tradition
in our family. the fictional Kinsey Milhone eats them too.

Peanut butter and tuna does sound awful. I eat tomato sandwiches...just
tomato with a little mayo. I may try them with tomato.

I wish I was there to help you organize those spices and spend some time alphabetizing your pantry. But more, to sit with you on the back porch and drink sweet tea.

Me too, our fall starting in September is lovely. Since Steve hooked up
my ice maker it has certainly made sweet tea easier.

Last day of June doesn't compare to peanut butter and pickle. Are you serious?
comment by jjoohhnn on May 31, 2012 6:19 AM ()
Serious my dear as a heart attack! Thinly sliced dill pickles and peanut
butter are a family tradition and if I know you, you will have to try one.
all of our husbands have learned to love them and crave them.
