Hot!

We are in the nineties and that would make us very uncomfortable if we tried to work outside other than in the
early morning or very late at night. I am having success
with all my plants and got a huge red bell pepper off my pepper plant this morning.

The squash are blooming away and my roses are beautiful and they bloom all the time. They are called knockout roses and
they aren't prone to disease. They are th e hardiest that
I have ever planted.

I have a beautiful shrub that blooms all the time with small
orange flowers. I would like to get another for the front of the house. Lane wanted one too, so perhaps he can figure out what it is.

Ted is not feeling well so I guess I will go persuade him to
take a break.

It is usually in the nineties here and the humidity is almost as high as the temperatures. Makes it hard to breathe sometimes, but except for the hours between two and maybe 5five P.M. my back porch is bearable to paint.

Thanks for the tip on the flowers -- maybe I'll get cheap white? Can white fade?

Blooming squash? You are a good month or two ahead of us. I have many live squash and cuke plants, so this summer should be much better than last year. I had thought about moving to NC at one point, but what fun is summer when you have to say in the ac? We're getting 90 by Saturday, so maybe you'll get a cooling trend when the heat moves east!

I experimented this year and bought one patio tomato and one regular. The patio one looks scrawny but has five nice sized green tomatoes. The regular one is tall and lush but just now blooming.

Trying to reclaim planting areas that were totaled by our cruel winter. Now we have oppressive heat and even native Florida plants don't like that much of it. I'm thinking of putting artificial flowers in some outdoor pots that are hard to tend to (have to run around the pool cage -- who has time for this?) Who's to know??

My next door neighbors have opted for fake flowers and they fade awfully fast. You would have to get the good expensive kind to weather the sun.
We used a lot of mulch so we are in better controlof weeds this year.

They heard of this type of rose.We have our garden up and going.
The only problems is egg plant.Every year I plant them and never produced.
I am stubborn and trying it again. They do not look too healthy.LOL
But no problem my friend is always giving me egg plants and he has the best of luck. The rest are doing fine.We are supposed to get this hot weather this weekend.Watch out.I am ready.Fredo

I love eggplant parmesan and there is an egg plant casserole that is so good
it takes the place of meat. I do not have the recipe but it calls for fresh tomatoes, bacon and italian seasonings.

DH wants me to get a tomato plant. Silly man. He has forgotten about my black thumbs.

Raise them in a container, almost no weeds and just keep them in the sun and watered.

I am planting most of my "things" in pots this year. Have a supply of pretty large pots and love having them close on the patio.

It is looking better all the time. We had an awful bare spot in the front and I put a rock garden in it and wove flowers around the rocks. It looks pretty good.
