The Eye Saga

Let's begin with Ted's constant fussing that he could no
longer see and needed new glasses. We went for the eye test
and he got a prescription although the doctor told him that
his eyes were not that bad but and that he had excellent
far vision.

We then took the prescription to Eyemart and they got the
lenses wrong the first time. Ted insisted that the glasses
must be thrown away because by then he hated the style of
the frames. I insisted we take them back and have them
re-ground. While we were there, he fell in love with a
new pair of frames and insisted on having those for a spare.
The upshot was three more visits to Eyemart, thoroughly
traumatizing all of it's employees. I could see the look of
dread in their eyes when we walked in.

It was the same with hearing aids and with dental work. He
has insisted on having false teeth implanted and that has
been a three year project.

I shudder at the thought of physical therapy after a hip
replacement. I hope they will put him in rehab at first.
We see a surgeon on Monday.

I lost my two pairs of glasses recently and had to go for a re-do which was informative, because I have a double vision problem and the lenses needed to be changed anyway to increase the prism correction. They give a free pair with initial order and this time, the 2nd pair was actually a decent frame. Sometimes the "free" pair is a piece of junk. We'll see how long I can hold on to these.

Enough to drive a person to drink. I hope you are having some relaxing moments out on your terrace watching the fireflies these summer nights.

after having a new set of glasses made , I told them they were no better than the old ones , the technician said to give them time for my eyes to adjust, went back again and he then said that it was my fault giving him the wrong reading.
Complained to head office and was asked to see another techie and have a new set made at no extra cost,

Some things aren't fun to practice. How are you doing Cath, I hope you
are not still at the mercy of Kevin's cooking.

Odd that he doesn't get exhausted by these exams. I always get tired of eye stuff, so much arbitrary choosing -- Which looks clearer, this or this? so after awhile I'm just picking randomly because i can't tell anymore. Dental repair sessions are even worse.

He became very confused and I was exhausted! I refuse to wear glasses,
reading glasses, which i have stashed all over the house, do it for me.

Yes, Babe. Almost as much fun as pregnancy. I am glad you will have a
C section. Labor is hell and contrary to myth, it doesn't disappear from
your memory.
