Let's begin with Ted's constant fussing that he could no
longer see and needed new glasses. We went for the eye test
and he got a prescription although the doctor told him that
his eyes were not that bad but and that he had excellent
far vision.
We then took the prescription to Eyemart and they got the
lenses wrong the first time. Ted insisted that the glasses
must be thrown away because by then he hated the style of
the frames. I insisted we take them back and have them
re-ground. While we were there, he fell in love with a
new pair of frames and insisted on having those for a spare.
The upshot was three more visits to Eyemart, thoroughly
traumatizing all of it's employees. I could see the look of
dread in their eyes when we walked in.
It was the same with hearing aids and with dental work. He
has insisted on having false teeth implanted and that has
been a three year project.
I shudder at the thought of physical therapy after a hip
replacement. I hope they will put him in rehab at first.
We see a surgeon on Monday.
