The Easy Way Out

I know that Mrs. Troutbend would not approve but I took every short cut in the book on our Thanksgiving meal. I used bottled gravy and used a stuffing mix with added celery
and onion. Our turkey was a fully cooked, smoked turkey.
I also had ham but they loved the turkey and Adrienne and
Ashley came over yesterday for the drumsticks. I have
enough left for a couple of sandwiches and to mix with
Rex's food.

It went off very well and we are trying to get Linda to come for Christmas. She is having stress angina so she
thinks the stress of traffic would kill her. There is an
easier way to come but it takes 45 minutes longer and she
is too set in her ways to try it.

Our tree is so pretty. We really love seeing it. Rex goes by and sniffs it but so far has not tried to pull any
ornaments off. I am using those pink cancer plastic bags
for gifts that are small enough to put in them. They are
pretty and reusable.

Have a great weekend.

I always eat the drumstick, then eat the other the next day! Tradition. Have a good week.

I don't like dark meat which is why I usually only cook a turkey breast.

Well, don't drag my name into it! Think of all the years you did it all the hard way, you've paid your dues.

I did feel a bit guilty for using the bottled gravy especially when Adrienne said it was the best she ever tasted.

Don't blame you at all - in fact I made a 'quick' chicken dinner this evening. It was only for 'us' so it was 'frozen everything' and Bisto gravy granules. The end result was tasty, so no complaints
I hope you enjoyed your wonderful thanksgiving day

Sometimes we all need to take a short cut. Friday night is our pizza night
and I always find it so simple because there is so few dishes to make it
very little clean up required.

We definitely have the spirit and our tree is lovely. We used a good looking Santa for the topper and it works well.

I actually really love stuffing from a box...better than homemade.

It is very good but I think I will go back to the traditional way for
Christmas.

Sometimes we need a break and Thanksgiving sneaked up on me.

Sounds loverly. You're my kind of cook.

I have always done it all from scratch but it was very satisfying to know that they loved the smoked turkey and when the little girls took the two
drumsticks home with them, I didn't have to worry about leftovers.

mine too.

I don't have my tree up yet. Will work on that after the cruise.

You lucky girl! Where are you going? I love being waited on hand and foot. The Carnival Magic was a disaster. Perhaps we should pack water bottles and granola in case of a disaster.
