Catching Up

Today started with welcoming Ashley who was spending the morning with us because her parents were getting new carpet. The two younger girls are very self sufficient as long as they have their phones and a book and access to a
tv. She had breakfast and lunch before going to the library
where she has a volunteer summer job.

I made chicken-mushroom soup for all six of us this morning
and delivered it to their house. I would rather take a
beating than get new carpet. They were scrunched up in
one room amid all their furniture. It is going to be pretty
when it gets done. I know they are hoping for it to be
finished today.

Bobby came home with me to work on Ted's lap top, leaving
Ellie trapped at home . He didn't get finished so he took
the laptop home with him so he could relieve Ellie. Bobby
is starting chemo again and will get his schedule on Thursday. I hope they will take at least a mini vacation
first.

The longer I live, the more I realize how important it is
to get the most out of every day that passes. Ted and
I have lived like the proverbial grasshoppers but I don't
believe there is much joy or happy memories in pinching
pennies. I am grateful for the experiences that we have
had and we regret nothing that we have spent on travel
and good times.

We weren't the kind to save up for a rainy day!

There are no regrets when having a holiday and a good time , though the pennies are going down wishing bobby all the best

Thanks for your good wishes for Bobby. We are all taking it one day at a
time in so far as we are able to. His wife is being supportive and the company that he had to resign from has been wonderful. He had a disability policy and they gave him a paid up life insurance policy.

I was taught to "save for a rainy day". And I think it's starting to drizzle.....

I saw my parents save and save and work and work always for tomorrow.
Then my father died shortly after he retired. I resolved not to live that
way but to enjoy life.

I would love to get rid of the wall-to-wall, lay an elegant tile and use area rugs of good quality. It's the animal thing. Also, my dressing room has carpet and also a basin -- and the cat bowls are there. Keeping it unsullied is a nightmare.

I love wood floors and miss mine a lot. There is so much dust that finds a way under carpet even if you vacuum. Bobby said he already feels better
at having the dust underneath removed.

That is the way I look.No more pinching just get out and enjoy what you have.It is your wealth and should enjoy it.

Me too. You and I are examples of that philosophy!!

I hope things go okay for Bobby with the chemo.

I do too. We will know something Thursday. It is so rough and I don't like
the way he looks. His whole midsection is bloated.
