Canny Shopping in 105 Degrees

Ordinarily, I do my shopping as early as possible. yesterday
morning I was waiting for the man from Hemispheres to come
out and replace the covers on my couch cushions because the
chenille came from China and looks like Sht. Eventually,
they will be recovered. It was much more expensive than
what I would normally have paid and is not made well. I
bought it because it would seat five comfortably (curved)
in front of the tv. He stayed almost an hour because he
was as enraged as we are about out sourcing and politics.
His whole family had lived in North Carolina and worked in
the furniture factories until they out sourced. He said
they would replace the covers and I will take them until
it inevitably happens again. They are not properly welted
and if you sit something on them...a dry object...it lives
an imprint on the fabric. Incidentally, I got my e mail off
to the coffee party today.

I had two twenty dollar coupons from Penny's and at two
o'clock I set out to get baby clothes for the girls. I
found two darling Carter sets so I have two for each girl
now. I think I will give them both gift cards. Sara will
want one to Buy Baby Buy. and I will give Kevin a gift card
to Penny's or maybe just a check. I trust her to use the
money wisely. She is being very practical about the whole
thing. It was so hot that it was almost unbearable but
I kept going and stopped at Hancocks and at Tuesday morning.
Ted made all kinds of fun of my Delta Burke bra. It is
pretty and can be adjusted to fit. Shame on him!

Rex had a tantrum yesterday. I cooked a pork loin and drenched it with Sweet Baby Rays after I diced it up and
put a little liquid smoke on it for sandwiches. He wanted
it and refused to eat his pound of hot dogs and bread and
butter. He chewed up one of my socks and tore all the
garbage out of the garbage can. He acted like a teenager.
I am sure you will all be in sympathy with him.

Keep cool if you can.

Someone left some of that brand sauce here a couple of years ago and I figured out a recipe that tasted the same. I'll post it some time. I haven't been to Tues Morning in awhile, I want to look for a frying pan there.

Rascal! Just wait until Buffy disses you and Mike.

Hot and sweet is how we like our barbecue sauce. I knew you would sympathize with Rex, today I cooked and boned chicken for him and he is
still pouting.

Hot dogs and bread and butter? Well, I will no longer feel guilty for giving my dogs pieces of the bread crust when I have sandwiches!

Don't feel guilty wheat bread is ok. He is still pouting even though I
cooked chicken for him today.

Hmmm.....My teenagers never chewed up my socks and they never touched the garbage can, either to put anything in or take anything out.

I could hardly live through my daughter's teen hood but she is paying for
it now bigtime. Her youngest is putting her through it.

No I feel for you --- he was having a bad day, and therefore so did you.

He hasn't eaten anything today either. He is sulking on the cool floor
in the bathroom. Just a spoiled dog child.

Sweltering here, too. Kudos on the shopping finds! As for Rex, maybe the heat and the smell of the pork loin fried his brain and self-control temporarily. Did he even look sad afterward?

It must have fried his brain even more than the lobster tail that I cooked
for Ted a week or so ago. He looks as sulky as a golden retriever can look. It is l0l on my back porch. I feel for the birds and wild things.
The water I put out gets too hot to drink in just an hour or so.

You're right. I'm with Rex on everything. Buy Baby Buy? Catchy. I bought and used some Sweet Baby Ray sauce on some chicken after you raved about it. It shot the calorie count way up and I didn't much like how sweet it was. I do like sweet, just not on the entre. YOu sound busy. Shame on Ted for dissing your bra.

I don't think calories count when it is this hot. They take a vacation.
Can you believe that their are five year old children playing t ball
in this heat. Shame on their parents.

You gave him a pound of hot dogs are you serious.
He rather had the pork loin.
