It is extremely hard for older women to find stylish clothing.
There seems to be a display of ageing flesh everywhere you
look since fashion for women embraces showing half your boobs.
Shriveled and shrunken skin is not attractive but very few
designers give a hoot.

Bandage dresses come in sizes like 5X. What are they thinking
to make those revealing dresses in such a large size? I am
presently a size l2 which should probably fill me with shame
but does not. I like clothing that leaves something to the
imagination. It is increasingly difficult to get petite
sizes that are age appropriate.

I have resorted to silk flowers or scarves to fill in the
cleavage. For fun, I go to fashion sites like Beyond The
Rack, Ideeli and Zulily. I subscribe to Harper's Bazaar
because I still want to know current fashion.

The designers have kicked older women to the curb. We
really would like to wear dresses once in a while.

When I had the body I couldn't afford the clothes. Now I can afford the clothes I no longer have the body.

I know what you mean about the cleavage-y clothes. I suppose it's for younger women, many of whom are heavier now but still wanted sexy clothes. I'm getting nostalgic for capes and granny gowns of the 60s and 70s.

Breasts are such sexual objects in America that their true function seems
to be forgotten. I think a peek is sexier than a full on display. I wonder
what the guys think?

I love fashion and style. As a little girl, during the depression, I longed
for pretty clothes. My sister and I tend to go a little overboard now.

I'm glad you are looking out for fashion so I don't have to. When I come across something I like that fits, I buy a couple in different colors and pretend it has solved the problem. Of course it hasn't, but I'm an ostrich.

I think I hate the bosom baring the most. Did this generation just discover
sex and have to put it on display. I also often by different colors of
the same thing and so does Linda. It works for me.

I guess we should be lifting weights and toning our arms. I need to lose
about twenty pounds but am not up for it right now. I think you have to
psyche yourself up to diet.

I gave up all dresses 40 years ago. Last time I wore one (other than a long gown at one Christmas party) was at my wedding to Ed. I am totally happy wearing tailored pants for dress-up occasions, and jeans and chinos for daily chores. I don't miss dresses at all. Also, down here, flip-flops are considered a fashion. Women wear glitter tops in the super market. This is a top I would save for New Year's Eve if anything. Times have changed. For the record, I also think most of the gowns worn at the Oscars are godawful. And the shoes are either too long in the heel, sticking out beyond it, or too short. These stars are clueless.

I like wearing a dress once in a while. I miss tailored suits also for
more formal times that don't require formal wear. I am going back to maxi
skirts and boots for winter. I like the look.

Hear you! I like dresses that fall below the knee, cocktail length they used to be called, now called midi length. Attractive stylish fun sexy dresses that length are sooooo hard to find. Sigh.... The hunt goes on....

I am glad to see the return of maxi skirts. As I told Teal, I love them
with boots. If our climate continues to change, we will be in boots all
winter. Years ago, I had a denim maxi dress that was barely fitted. I
loved it, you could just put it on and feel comfortable and put together.
Alas, I loaned it out once too often but everyone loved it. By the way,
we had well over 800 earthquakes in Oklahoma so far this year.
