Aftermath

I got up at four a. m. yesterday, had four cups of coffee, and dressed and went to my son's house in Oklahoma City. Surprise! Surprise! The kids were already up and they started in on the cup cakes for breakfast. I gave Adrienne her birthday present which was a cell phone with 200 minutes and a music box and a few other dinky items. She was estatic about the cell phone, all of her peers have them and she said "I will try not to let the cell phone take over my life, grandma Jeri". It won't be possible because the game boy already has taken over her life. How did we ever raise our children without all of this technology? I really think the new generation is going to be hardput to cope with reality. I took the girls out to eat and then for double dip icecream cones at Braums. Afterall what are grandmas for?

Ted had cleaned up the house...he loves to run the Kirby and I hate it because it is so heavy. He also worked on Old Yeller because we have a lot of use for a pickup this spring. I am thinking of all kinds of projects before it gets too hot to be bearable outside.

Bobby bought one of the expensive Rhomba robot vacums at Goodwill and it does a fantastic job! The one I bought did not pick up well. It is fun to use. The girls like to turn it on and let it clean their room. It was still in the box...a donation from Target..and marked 329.00. He got it for sixty dollars and it is a prize. He b uys at Good will and sells on ebay. They have a great Goodwill store that gets donations from Target. Evidently, the drive to hunt bargains is genetic.

Have a good Sunday morning. ....Jeri

We got a roomba for the garage from the casino, and use it on the tile floor in the kitchen. It really is pretty good. I keep thinking of all the stuff we have plugged in recharging all the time, not doing much to save the planet, but it's fun to use it.

What lucky grandkids to have you for a grandma!
PS I've seen those Rhoombas(sp?) commercials and wondered if
they really worked..I must get one and put it to work on
those dust bunnies under the beds.

You are sounding more trendy everday. See how blogging keeps us up to date. I am walking and working hard. I have started a project of putting white rocks in where the dogs dig to prevent damage around the back door. The stones are huge, left over from when they built our fireplace but all of the activity just makes me hungrier. Rex is a master excavator.

What a lovely day you had! Your granddaughter seems to have had a fantastic day. And, your husband vacuumed for you? I can't get mine to microwave!! Once I was thinking of getting one of those robot vacuum cleaners. I should have done it then because they were being advertised on sale for about eighty dollars. Well, it was a few years back! I would love to just sit and watch it do my job!!
