Free Book

After reading the cherry pie recipe -- and instructions for high-altitude cooking, I saw links mentioning that Charles Darwin had the same trouble with cooking at different altitudes and wrote about them in The Voyage of The Beagle. This sent me to Amazon, which decided I could have that book for free because it's old and, hey, sometimes she buys two others when we give her one free.

I must remember to click over to Amazon anytime I run across a title of a book I always meant to get but didn't, especially old titles. I'm not sure whether it's my Prime membership or just the number of books I buy.

I'm certain that others will find different free books offered to them, based on their individual activity online.

This always bugged me about Amazon -- the fact that they offer the same item at different prices to different people. However, now I'm determined to find some free ones if they're going to dangle them in front of me.
*** If you feel like it, I'd appreciate hearing what free books you were offered lately by Amazon. I'm very curious about their methods.

I find the ordering process for free library material for the Kindle to b more involved than it needs to be. A friend told me I could go to "Store" in my Kindle menu and type in "free books" and get lots of stuff. I did it once -- I don't get a lot of books at once because I don't want them to expire before I get to them.

My ole lady's account was logged in when I went to Amazon (she's using my machine while hers is in the shop). The banner up top was promoting a new release in Kindle, but no freebees. I went to my account and its offering me produces in the first two lines, but no freebies.
You must be special, or something!

No -- besides being completely wrong about Amazon's doings lately, I have misled everyone. Amazon doesn't jump up to offer a free book, but when I've searched for a book there, many older ones are free if you choose the Kindle version.

After getting 'rid' of hundreds of books that I lugged everywhere I sold them all on e-bay and don't buy any books anymore--I LOVE the library!

Best way of all to read, really.

Free is good. I haven't been offered any freebies.

Next time you are looking for a book, check on Amazon to see if the ebook version is free. You never know. And you don't need a Kindle, just read it on your computer.
