Lettuce Lake Park

Right before Christmas, I went on a photo shoot at Lettuce Lake Park. I love the park and think it is quite beautiful. It was my first trip to the park in winter.

I had a quiet Christmas at home. I spent the day trying to learn InDesign. I think rather than bumbling through the program on my own, I am going to have to break down and follow one of the 'how to learn it' books that I have. They have lessons and sample material and I hate following them, but I have resigned myself to that may be the only way. I am also trying to learn how to write screenplays. I need to focus on InDesign, so maybe I will abandon the screenplay learning process for a while.

Small parks are less intimidating than the larger ones. Intimate, I suppose, as your photos illustrate. I can't figure out how to add photos in a post. I get a "can't do" message. Grrr.

You probably need to resize them.MyBloggers will only accept small file sizes. I can post pictures, but still can't post Youtube stuff.

So pretty and green in winter.

Actually, there is more brown and dried stuff so it does not look like a single green mass in photos.

I may take you up on that!

What a charming park! I can see it as the setting for a foodie children's book! With artichoke hedges and carrot stick swings!

Happy InDesign learning.... Patience! My best friend, not a patient soul, got a Kindle Fire for Christmas, and is struggling to figure it out. She, too, is going to force herself to watch the video primer and do the instruction tasks. Don't let frustration get in the way of the fun....

I love the name of the park, it sounds soft and comforting, for some reason - Bibb lettuce, I guess.

The name comes from the leafy stuff that grows over the water's surface. It is not algae. It is actual leafy stuff that helps purify the water. Lettuce Lake Park is a hardwood swamp that covers about 240 acres.
