Over the years I have formed mental images of my MyBloggers friends. I saw that I was not far off the mark when I met Randy. He looked like- well, Randy! When I take those same mental images and pick a bird to symbolize or represent them, I come up with a most unusual aviary. Some are based on physical features that I image from reading your blogs while others are based on the personality that comes through. Here it goes- I will likely insult many of you before I am through but that is not my intention. Just having fun, and I hope you have fun reading this. In your replies, tell me what kind of bird you are- or suggest an alternative for someone.
solitaire- a raven. He is fit and trim, smart, self-sufficient, curious about the world and far-traveling.
elderjane- Great egret. I imagine her of average heigth and graceful. Egrets get along well with other birds and survive our hurricanes and storms. They always end up back home- and are pretty too.
fredo- an eagle. They are long-lived, not too fussy (they have learned to forage human waste for food, hence, much more adaptive than we once thought.) I also think of Fredo as very patriotic.
lunarhunk- a scrub jay. They are as pretty as blue jays but have no crowns. (I don't think of lunarhunk as pretentious or superficial). They restrict themselves to scrub oaks (AJ the library) and are nest oriented.
honeybugg- a pelican. A pelican can do with or without. They can be solitary one day and in a flock the next, but they rarely go hungry. They are beautiful and awkward all in the same breath. Pelicans know how to be comics and are quite interesting.
tealstar- a hummingbird. I picture her as small, petite and always busy.
me- a sandpiper. You would have to watch sandpipers to get this. They run up to the tide's edge and grasp coquinas before they burrow under the sand again, run back to dry soil, crack them, then run out to catch the next wave as it rolls in. They repeat this cycle for hours on end but are very shy birds.
always be blonde and always wear make up.
