Photos from My Vacation

Does one's elevation above sea level change your perception of the sky? Thirty years ago or so, I camped out in Telluride, CO and saw moon shadows for the first time. I was surprised that they were so clear and distinct. They weren't the same back at home.
In my photos (and memory) the sky is a much more vivid blue than what I'm used to seeing here. I think I like the sky and clouds there much better.
Anyway, here are some photos from my trip last month. You can see others in my photo gallery.
I love the blue in the sky.

I was surprised to see cactus growing on the side of a mountain like that but it is pretty dry in the area. Anyway, I like the contrasting colors and textures in this one.

Nice pics. For every 1000 feet of elevation gained the temp drops 3 degrees and the air gets thinner. I don't know if this happens further south, but it's the norm up north.

Love your photos, Cat. The sky in Florida, esp. if you are near the water, is spectacular, like those drawings from fairy tale books. The cloud cover is so fascinating, when I was first down here I couldn't take my eyes away. The humidity from the water is a factor and also pollution is not as great as in, for instance, the big cities. There is an almost permanent smog in NY that diffuses clouds. And at night, I can see starry skies, something that was common in my childhood in Chicago before pollution increased. In NY you are lucky to see stars (unless, of course, you are mugged).
