Fast forward to today. I dropped the car off Tuesday evening still not knowing if my insurance company was going to say it was mostly my fault. If it was my fault, I would have had to pay a $500 deductible. I didn't think it was, but I hedged my bet anyway. I took my car back to the body shop and asked if they could tell how fast the driver was going when she hit me. He said it looked like she was going at least 25 mph. Doesn't sound like much, but in a parking lot?
I also took photos of the the actual injury and the parking lot and emailed all of it to the claims rep. She called this afternoon and said that she and her supervisor agree that it was NOT my fault! So, I keep my $500 and my low insurance premium.
Not a bad birthday at all.
