Besides the lack of any substantive thought, this argument has several flaws.
Flaw #1 - The incorrect use of the term millionaires and billionaires by politicians is used to mislead the masses and invoke class warfare.
No, there is nothing incorrect or misleading about the term millionaires and billionaires. In the minds of average people with average intellect it means simply people who have millions and billions of dollars..period. There’s nothing confusing or misleading about that. The term “class warfare” is what is questionable. To me it is nothing but rhetoric or a ploy by those who favor (and most probably being paid by) the wealthy to make it seem like they are being unjustly or unfairly treated. Sorry for my sarcasm but gee….those poor people…how can we do that to them????
Flaw #2 - The millionaires and billionaires are generally the people who employ millions of workers and provide goods and services.
By saying “employ millions of workers” I will take it as meaning collectively employ millions of workers. Well gee, how else would they have made their millions if not by providing those goods and services, making probably a minimum of 1/3 (of the cost) profit and using the loopholes or tax-breaks to minimize what they contribute to the country that provides them the tax incentives to employ people.
Flaw #3 - Even if the government sticks it to the millionaires and billionaires as many people hope for...this will not help anyone. Not one dime will go to the people on the sidelines waiting for the handout. The money will go the corrupt politicians and ultimately cause the companies that the millionaires and billionaires own to either raise prices...or let workers go.
This one is not even worth responding to, but for the sake of this exercise I will attempt it just to point out the ridiculousness of your argument.
It is typical Foxnews talking points rhetoric and a very sarcastic and cynical view of the taxation and welfare system of America. You make America sound like one of those dictatorship countries like North Korea. Yes, no doubt there are politicians who are corrupt, who will abuse any system UNTIL THEY GET CAUGHT. The really major serious flaw in the American system is the practice of lobbyists. Lobbying politicians should be against the law. Anywhere else in the world it is called bribery and corruption. In America they make it sound legitimate by calling it lobbying, but it doesn’t alter the fact that it is paying a political party to favor one’s own interests.
As for your statement “not one dime will go to the people on the sidelines waiting for a handout” …that is also another typical Foxnews bs. Most genuine good Americans have enough pride and self-respect not to want handouts. I will agree that there are those shameless ones who do, but that’s human nature and part and parcel of a society where you will never get perfection. Tarring the whole section of welfare or aid recipients as “waiting for handouts” is unfair and I hope you never have to be one of those on the end of that line if God forbid a terrible misfortune befalls you.
Flaw #4 - Who defines another persons "fair share"?
Fairness is not that difficult to define. Fair minded people with average intellect would know what is fair and what is unfair. Let me give you an example:
Those who are defined as wealthy, super wealthy, obscenely wealthy……that’s everyone who’s got more than a million dollars in their bank accounts, two or three mansions, yachts, private planes, an island home in the Caribbean and so on and so on…..getting tax breaks and loopholes to avoid paying their fair share of taxes while the middle class and those who struggle to make ends meet are having their homes foreclosed or living on one meal a day and are unable to afford adequate medical care.
Do you consider that to be fair just because the rich are providing jobs? They provide jobs because their business that makes them their money needs workers…they’re not doing it for the good of the people, they are doing it for the good of their own bank balance. Yes, that’s a cynical way of looking at it but it’s a heck of a lot more credible than your argument as far as I’m concerned.
You can give ‘’correct’’ definitions of any words but most people look at the actuality of the situation, not the definition of what it should be.
Your “Bill Gates and your sister” comment is typical sarcasm of the Republicans. Fortunately not all Americans are stupid enough to see it exactly that way…..with all due respect….and I don’t believe you actually feel that way yourself. It is pure sarcasm, you would never go to Bill Gates and thank him for his contribution and you know it.
Thanks for giving me the opportunity to voice my opinion on this subject.
