I
made this walk almost every day early in the morning before it got too
hot and way before the other tourists were up and about. This place
gets crowded from about 10am onwards.
It's
a huge mall with designer shops, a big upmarket department store called
Sogo and hundreds of little shops selling anything from beach wear to
shoes to handbags, Balinese souvenirs, lots of ice-cream bars like
Haagen Daz and Baskin Robbins, a few western restaurants for those who
are not into Indonesian food.
There's
a Peri Plus book store, and a huge store full of Indonesian arts...wood
carvings, shell art, Batik fabrics and clothing, paintings, and
Balinese aromatherapy products...and lots of other Balinese stuff.
My favorite store is the bread shop called Bread Talk.
Just
imagine every conceivable way of baking bread and cakes, both
Indonesian and western style and this store smells so heavenly, I just
about drool whenever I think of it.
They
have the best single serve portions of bread and butter pudding and the
most scrumptious New York baked cheese cake, single serve portions of
Tiramisu that is to die for among other equally mouth watering
delights.
Such a shame I dont have photos to show you.
They
frown on people taking photographs in stores for some reason. I
remember having the same problem when I tried to photograph inside a
department store in Jakarta.
But outside, well it's a real visual delight and it was a joy to walk to the mall every morning.

Ocean 27, with the most amazing seafood dishes you can imagine.
It's right on the edge of the water and the sea breezes are awesome!!
And
this is why I love this restaurant. You get to sit in the pool if you
want to, which is great if you've been walking around for a while and
feel the need to cool off.
Which is exactly what I did....I sat inside the pool and cooled my little feet off and ordered a drink and a meal.
While waiting for my drink I decided to admire my "purchase of the day"
a genuine authentic reproduction of a Jimmy Choo handbag....lol.
My
beautiful cold fresh pineapple juice arrived and shortly after, my
scrumptious lunch!! This is the first time I've ever had lunch sitting
inside a pool!!

Grilled
lobster with aioli mayonnaise and a gorgeous crisp salad. I had the
option of french fries but I passed on them. Somehow I thought they
would spoil the classiness of the dish...lol.
Too busy and too happy to take any more photographs so I put my camera away and pigged out!!!
