Glorious Sunsets and Quaint Markets..final Pics.

I love beautiful sunsets and the ones I have witnessed on the beach in Bali have to be the most breath-taking.
I
took these photos on four separate evenings but from the very same
spot, at slightly different times...I just didnt make a note of the
times unfortunately...lol.

And
this one I took long after the sun had already disappeared in the
horizon but it was still bright enough and still warm enough for people
to hang around.

One
of the most fun things to do when in Bali is to go shopping for the
really cheap stuff.  Casual clothes like shorts and t-shirts and summer
dresses and sandals and fake designer watches and fake designer perfumes
and fake designer sun-glasses.  You'll be amazed how many pairs of
shorts you can buy for a dollar or two.

Haggling
is expected and you have to haggle because if you ask them how much,
they will give you a very gross "over the top" price which would make a
novice choke...lol.

It's
fun and I picked up some really cute tops, a nice pair of shorts and a
few dresses for about A$25.00.   Just dont put them in the washing
machine...hehehe.

These are the markets I had to walk through every morning on the way to the beach.

You can also shop for artwork and it's a lot cheaper here than at the art galleries in Ubud.

Every
morning there's a ritual the Balinese perform (religiously come rain or
shine) where they place a little basket of offerings (such as cooked
rice, flowers, an incense stick, and a piece of fruit or vegetable) at
the little temples that are everywhere.  It's supposed to bless them
with a peaceful and profitable day and ward off calamity.

The
girls who perform these daily rituals are so graceful as they do the
"blessing of the gift" gestures using a flower such as a frangipani
which they use to sprinkle water on the offering and wave the flower a
few times over it. It's fascinating to watch.

And these my friends is the end of my holiday to Bali.....Island of the Gods.

I hope you enjoyed taking this trip with me.
Thank you for your visits and your comments.

The beach photos are very appealing. I expect the fake watches would stop running as soon as you left that time zone...

Have you seen the flash of green at sunset? In the second from the bottom photo, what are those cylindrical things hanging in bunches from that pole?

I've never seen this pictures before!!! I'll just come with an empty suitcase (or buy one there) and get things as I need them!
