Recently I spent two glorious weeks in Bali...island of the Gods. This is the hotel I stayed at which is up in the hills, nowhere near the beautiful beaches. It was nice for a change but I will always prefer to be right on the beach...next time!!
I've been too lazy to re-size my photos from Bali to be able to post them here. I did a few just now, pictures I took of the hotel I stayed at but it was a dull, cloudy day so the pics dont really do it much justice. I will post the outside first and later when I get the inclination to go through and crop the ''inside'' pics, I will post them as well. I've been having trouble posting pics here lately, because they are too big so I've had to crop or resize them to less than 2mb for them to post. Having so many I want to share is daunting . I dont knowwhich ones to post and which ones to leave out.
This is the front of the Mansion Hotel. You have to go through a set of very high double gates to get into the hotel grounds and a long drive-way leading up to here.
This is on the left hand side of the entrance to the hotel.
This is one of the outdoor cafes near the front entrance where you can have your breakfast or any meals or snacks you want anytime of the day or night. It is good for when you have guests visiting you at the hotel.
When you've walked through the lobby and out to the rear of the front building, there are acres and acres of gardens and pools and bungalows. This place is ENORMOUS!!
Just outside the back of the main building is the pool-side restaurant where buffet breakfast is served every morning.
Just inside this area is a beautiful restaurant with heaps of beautiful furniture and artwork. It is really magnificent, right down to the chandeliers and the drapes.
That's a cabana at the back end of the pool. It's got two very comfortable full length cushions to lay on and sunbake or enjoy a cocktail or two.
At the back of the hotel, past this pool area is the rest of the gardens and the individual bungalows and lots of pools to just lay in and cool off. I wish it was a sunnier day when I took these pics...it really is stunning.
It just finished raining the morning I took these shots, I should have waited for the sun to come out.
This bungalow has a visitors area where your friends can come and spend the day with you at your hotel. There's drinks and food waiters available to service your every whim.
Every little pool has it's own cabana complete with mosquito net if you want to sleep in there at night.
This was my bungalow. We originally booked a villa but it was in the front building and I wanted a room in the gardens at the back. It was a very quiet time with hardly any guests so I was able to get this one for the same price as the villa. The only difference really is that I didnt have a flatscreen tv, but that's all. It's not as luxuriously furnished but it was still very nice.
This next pic shows the back area of the hotel from one end right up to another, it is a HUGE place. It takes more than ten minutes to walk from my bungalow to the front entrance of the hotel.
Right in front of my bungalow is a huge cement area where artists painted this huge mural (??) of a Balinese scene. I had to take a few pics to show all of it. It's beautiful.
This last pic shows the rest of the gardens right up to the back of the hotel property. Look at the photo on top of these mural pics, its one direction..and the bottom photo is looking towards the opposite direction. I reckon it's a good 20 minute walk from one end of the property to the other...or more!!!
I love the artwork around the place. There are many of these statues of "Gods" everywhere and all different. They are fascinating and each has it's own story.
This gigantic one is just down the road from the hotel....it is enormous and scary but I really liked it.
This is all for now, I will try and upload some more next time I get in the mood.
