Can We Change the Outcome of the Election?

Change.Org says we can. Here is an excerpt from their site:

On December 19, the Electors of the Electoral College will cast their ballots. If they all vote the way their states voted, Donald Trump will win. However, they can vote for Hillary Clinton if they choose. Even in states where that is not allowed, their vote would still be counted, they would simply pay a small fine - which we can be sure Clinton supporters will be glad to pay!

We are calling on the Electors to ignore their states' votes and cast their ballots for Secretary Clinton. Why?

Go to the site for the rest. SIGN THE PETITION, SHARE WITH YOUR FRIENDS. SHARE ON FACE BOOK.

If all those demonstrators in the streets of cities across the country did this, we might have a shot.

Hillary won the popular vote. The Electroal College system is now considered unconstitutional. The reasons for its existence are no longer valid. Let's make them honor the will of the majority.

xx, Teal

There have to be safeguards to prevent a truly disastrous choice, such as this one. That's why we have super delegates. Derailing Trump would be done for cause, and just yesterday, he took a call from the president of Taiwan, in direct conflict with the U.S. long-standing policy of recognizing one China, with the seat of government in Beijing. He took the call because he didn't know any better, and he is refusing intelligence briefings from our security agencies. China, meanwhile, that has every right to be enraged, is buying its time with its response. Best case: they will realize he is an idiot and cut us some slack. He is choose virulent racists and misogynists for his cabinet. Don't tell me this is what our Democracy will just sit by and swallow. We have legal ways to remove him if we step up. Also, there is a recount and discrepancies favoring Trump have been uncovered. Let's see where that takes us.

Our election hasn't officially finished yet. Our votes don't actually choose the president, our votes choose delegates to an electoral college who cast the votes permitted to each state. It's ridiculous.

The Confederate flag wavers who voted for Trump will be hungry soon. No more cash for Mountain Dew! One priority of Trump's first 100 days is to eliminate SNAP (Food stamps.)

I don't usually get involved in politics but I just have to offer my sympathies to the American people.

Thanks for your support. We are in a bad place. But I also heard that the divide between those doing well and those left behind is worldwide and caused the Brexit vote. We have to go back to the drawing board.

we need to abolish that Electoral College horseshiat. It was implimented back in horse and buggy times when it took days to get anywhere. Now, when one can fly across the country it is outdated. Things would be different on a whole lot of levels if we just stuck to the popular vote.

thanks bugg ... I'm busy writing responses to the voters who are thrilled with Trump ... the letters column today has a couple of them chortling over ending "the Clinton dynasty." Leave it to me. They'll be hurting (if I am published). The new editors have finally discovered me. Made me part of a debate streamed on Facebook Live, published three of my letters in one week. We'll see if the honeymoon goes on.

Can't hurt to try to use corrective measures. I went to change.org and signed. They're almost up to 3 million where the government has to read it and offer a verbal response (I think that's what happens.)

At the least, if the petition is supported widely, they have to respond.
