Sunday News

Don't know where to start here.
Weather? Who cares, eh? (Not like Florida, for sure!)
The jury is out on my new email carrier (gmail through google). I'm having trouble with accessing messages, at least scrolling down a page.
But, I like the "high speed". My computer's "date and time" setting seems to be working fine now. It comes and goes, like it has a mind of its own. Who knows?

At last check, I had 30 "friends" on MyBloggers. The other day, I checked for new posts on all 30 and came up with only 6--three by one person (Laura's 3 sites). So that's like 4 people wrote something for me to read and comment on. Where is everybody? I "disfriended" about a dozen mybloggers-ites. We had a couple of "newbies" I thought were promising, but , alas, they've flown the coop. Oh well, we're small, but mighty. Okay, just small.

I tried to sleep in this morning, but awoke at my regular time. Stayed up way past my bedtime the last two nights watching football games. And last night's Wisc-Mich St. game was incredible! Tonight, the pros will keep me up late. Thank goodness for after lunch naps! Although today, I plan to go visit my father and watch the first half of Colts football with him. Nap later?

I babysat my grandson one day last week, and will do it again this week. I enjoy keeping him (at my house), despite his demand for my attention. My "routines" get screwed up. But hey, I'm flexible. His regular sitter, my ex-wife, had knee surgery.

Eager to read some new posts. Come on people!

If you subscribe to a blog, you get a notice in your E mail. I take it you just look at your friends list and click on those. I like my way because if I am not paying attention, I miss a lot.

See, I decided to go back 5 or 6 posts to see if I missed any replies, and there you were. With my new email address, I'm getting more notifications. Who knows why.

I do remember My Little Margie. Like you say, going to go do some googling now.

I see she died just 2 years ago. Dad wondered. His account of her life, including alcoholism, was right on.

The only reason I go to blogster is that it is easy to post pictures there and then I can C & P them here.
There are now a lot of teenagers there plus Chico University students posting their book reports for Rob Burton, their professor--oh, yes, plus the rabid Right wingers!

Oh, alright. I'll stay put here at mybloggers.

Ohio State doesn't deserve a bowl game either. The bowls have become simply one more way for the schools to raise cash.

I hate to admit it but we knew all along that O.S.U. would beat O.U. It is
always a bitter fight to the death but they, along with their coach, triumphed.
comment by elderjane on Dec 5, 2011 4:58 AM ()
Oh sure, you can say that now! But I like your confidence. I'm so used to being on the losing side of teams, I fully expect them to be be defeated.

I had to check and make sure I was still your friend. I blogged today.

No, I didn't "erase" you! I must admit, however, I'm usually not too interested in your knitting posts. No offense.

Another last second win for the Broncos today. I think it's sweet of you to watch the game with your dad. Mr. Tbend used to do that when we all lived in the same town.
comment by troutbend on Dec 4, 2011 8:48 PM ()
Yes, we watched the first half together. It's difficult to converse, however. He has the volume up so loud. But he reminisced about Nancy Priddy (Christina Applegate's mother). I hadn't remembered she spent two weeks with us when I was 12 (she 14). How could I have forgotten? And then he talked about Lee Bonnell marrying Gale Storm. Remember her-- TV's My Little Margie? Real name Josephine Cottle (Dad remembered!). More googling to do.

I am watching the Packers game now... it's kinda scary to watch though! And I think you were right the first time about MyBloggersites - we are small but mighty!
comment by kristilyn3 on Dec 4, 2011 3:36 PM ()
The Packers didn't look great, but they got the job done. Congrats!

I have great respect for those of you who write every day or on a very consistent basis. I didn't really want to write a blog but I read what you all wrote and wanted to comment and the only way to comment was to write a blog. A vicious cycle (circle?). Some days nothing comes. Other days I think of several topics. I always have a comment or two, though. So keep writing, all you mybloggers-ites.

I enjoy writing (although I'm not very good at it). Since I live alone, it gives me a chance to express some thoughts and opinions and share my life with others. Sort of egotistic, I suppose. And I'm usually only good for an every other day post. Besides, it gives readers two days to read what important thing I have to say!

No football for me. I gave blood yesterday. Then I came home and took a nap. Babysitting grandchildren is fun because you do it, then they go home. Grandparents get the fun part, not the responsible part of childraising.
comment by boots586 on Dec 4, 2011 10:56 AM ()
I try not to "parent" my grandson, but it's in my blood, esp. enforcing manners. And congrats on blood letting! I did it once and fainted dead away!

'Eager to read some new posts' and then you tell me you don't read them!

I blog at 6 different sites--of all I prefer the quiet, calm, fun of mybloggers-- get to know people better as they talk about themselves and not politics or religion which is futile to talk about and just gets everyone angry--now if I could only post my pictures directly here I'd give up the site that I can!!!
comment by greatmartin on Dec 4, 2011 10:07 AM ()
I'm amazed you're at 6 different sites. Wow! How do you find the time? Oh, that's right--you don't exercise! (except fingers) I've given up trying to post pics. Been thinking about returning to Blogster.

I watched three college football games yesterday. My hope was for Georgia to beat LSU. That would have thrown the BCS into a dizzy spin. Then, after Houston lost (WOW) the picture got muddier. Oklahoma was made to look like a Division 3 team by OSU. My personal picks for the title match? LSU vs Oklahoma State. But they (the BCS buffoons) will pick Alabama anyway, so it will just be a rematch.
comment by jondude on Dec 4, 2011 7:24 AM ()
Rematches can be fun. I don't mind them. But I feel sorry for Ok St. And it pisses me off that Purdue is going to a bowl game with a 6 & 6 record.
