During "wine time" before supper, I sometimes turn on the TV and see what The Doctors are featuring.
Yesterday, Dick Vandyke was on. He was "showing off" his fitness at age 86, not to mention his VERY young wife.
What struck me wasn't necessarily his looks, but his ear-to-ear smile. Maybe it was acting, but he actually looked very happy--and, of course, proud.
I noticed I was grinning broadly, along with everyone in the audience. It was infectious!
So, I got to thinking about the "power of a smile". Do I smile, I wondered? How about my friends and family? A smile conveys pleasantness or pleasing, happiness and a happy to see you message.
I did a little study today with all the people I met (10, and all men). Did they smile? If I smiled at them, how would they react? You know, it's amazing how suddenly friendly they became! I include 4 shoe "salesman" (while returning my golf shoes and looking for new ones), and 6 guys at the golf course.
Yes, there's much to be said for the power of a smile. I got "a deal" on a pair of golf shoes!!
Keep on smiling, fellow mybloggersites!
