Saddle Up!

Yep. I'm back in the saddle again! Gene Autry or Roy Rogers?
Had to have a new hard drive installed. I did get my photos retrieved, and my "documents" were saved, but I lost email addresses, etc. I have them written down, if I can read my writing!
To all that wrote comments, thank you. I won't respond individually. But it's nice that you care. I'm eager to catch up on all that's happening.
The timing of the crash was good, however. I was up to my eyeballs in strawberries. All the rain put me behind in yard and garden work. Plus my Virgina sister was here for 5 days--I couldn't ignore her.
I was hoping a "new" computer would speed things up, but I can tell it's not going to happen. I've decided to spend less time online because of other priorities this time of year. Ok, I'll quit rambling. Here's wishing you all a great weekend.

Did you know that you can get low sugar (light) pectin? It's usually right beside the regular kind, or you can get Pomona's Pectin at health food stores for no sugar jams. "Regular" jam usually has more sugar than fruit. I'm waiting for my strawberries so I can make jam. Homemade is way better than store bought, but Smuckers is still pretty good.

Welcome back! I know how you feel. One of those bad midwestern storms zapped my modem and knocked me out of business for five days. I about went bonkers. May all stay connected — for all of us!

YAY! Your back!

I'm glad you were able to save what you could on your computer! When mine crashed this Spring I lost it ALL - I had saved a few things, but what a lesson learned! I now have a secondary drive where I store all my "important" stuff... Just in case

On to Garden stuff...

The one thing I have never planted was Strawberries... I really don't know much about growing them, and would LOVE some tips - The one thing I do know is that they take a few years to produce. So maybe next Spring?

Anyhoo - Great to see you back!

Good luck with new computer--can't live with 'em, can't
live without 'em. PS Your talk of strawberries has induced
me to go make toast and open up a new jar of Smucker's
strawberry jam to put on top.

Are the strawberries a commercial crop? do you make jam? wine? are they sweet or do you have to add sugar and cream? I'm jealous.

Glad you are back but I'm sorry you crashed. Not fun at all. Enjoy those strawberries. I need to go get some more if it isn't too late. Strawberry jam is calling my name!
