Little Progress

Don't mean to bore anyone, but FYI, the house was moved only about 100 yards yest!
Two tractors couldn't get the thing to budge. Broken axle, stuck in mud, etc. Nightmarish.
Today, two BULLDOZERS are being brought to the scene!
If that doesn't do it, we'll have to wait for Spring and firm ground.
Thanks for your verbal support.

This house move has really become a nightmare, huh?

So sorry that the plan didn't work. Better luck next time.

I hope the bulldozers do the trick. I remember years ago when my dad would be cutting wheat in low areas that he would sometimes get his combine stuck in the mud. The only thing that would pull it out was a bulldozer. Good luck. What a nightmare this has become for all of you.

We are all sick of this whole maddening operation. Once again, it shows you can't mess around with mother nature (remember that old commercial?).

I saw the picture. Moving large portable storage buildings isn't quite the same thing, but I can say from experience, it's hard to tell how much something will weigh or how difficult it will be to move until you get it up on wheels. I can sympathize with them AND you.

If only the ground was frozen. Damn global warming!

And uncooperative weather.

What a trial ... they sound like the Mickey Mouse House Movers. Am I being too hard on them? Surely, the pros know how to avoid these mishaps?

Well, the movers are exactly Harvard graduates, but I couldn't do what they do. I'm cutting them slack. It's the weather--soft ground.
