Kentucky Bound

You won't be hearing from me for 10 days or so. I'm on another adventure, this time with the Sierra Club, to Red River Gorge in Kentucky. It's a short trip of about 6 hours from my house in Indiana, so the time and gas expense won't be too bad.

Again, as in all my trips, it's billed as a "service" outing. We are to "build a bridge" and do some trail work. I don't know what that entails. I'm just glad we're not removing invasive species.

This is pretty good timing to go. I am tired of golf--just going through the motion, not concentrating. Politics are getting on my nerves, let alone all the financial "crises".
I'll be news free for a week. No Cubs to worry about either.

Later.

I'm so glad you are out finding some peace and quiet. I had often planned to help out with volunteer work for the Yosemite Association of which I am a member. But... I just send them money and have never gone on any of the work outings. Now, I doubt if my back ever allows for any such outing. I guess I waited too long in life. Sooooo, I will just live vicariously through your adventures. Looking forward to hearing all about your trip and to seeing some pictures, too. Have a great time. AnnieL

Off on another adventure? Building bridges? The last thing anyone can call you is a boring Indiana farm boy. You do such interesting things, and I'd say that through the Sierra Club you are making great contributions yourself. Kudos, my friend.

Hubby and I are soon going to Lexington, KY. The country is lovely there, but we are going to a horse auction. I will soak up some of the bluegrass ambiance, however.
