Perhaps someone else is posting an article about this, but as a former earth science teacher, I feel responsible for wishing everyone a Happy Earth Day today, April 22.
As I perpetually had posted on my school bulletin board, "Every Day is Earth Day". But, like National Prayer Day or Mother/Father's Day, we designate one "special" day to honor the significance of the subject.
I remember exactly what my science classes did 41 years ago to celebrate the first Earth Day. I think we've lost or forgotten the observance. There was nothing in today's newspaper about it.
What are you doing to "celebrate"?
