Yesterday, I went to "the city" (Lafayette) to do some shopping. I saw that Steak 'n Shake has an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast for $3.99, so I decided to indulge. Boy, did I ever! I could not eat that very last forkful, honestly! I think I would have lost it if I had.
And, except for walking two miles, I didn't exercise. (I needed the day off, anyway.) But, surprisingly, when I stepped on the scales this morning, my weight was exactly the same. Go figure.
I stopped to see my hygienist daughter at the dental office just to say hi. Then to Target to buy a record player, which I purchased for $120. Over the internet, the same stereo costs twice that much (free shipping--no wonder!). It's a Crosley, nothing fancy for sure, and made in China, which almost made me decide not to buy it. Once set up at home, it sounded alright. I'm not too picky, but I missed the large speakers of my old one.
I also bought an ink cartridge for my printer. Ugh!! $40. I hardly ever use it, and the ink usually dries out before I use it up. I was going to buy a color ink one, but they (Staples) didn't have one. Good thing! Anyway, I have a few things that need printing off, so now I can.
It's been so windy lately, I haven't been able to watch TV because my dish shakes so badly, it can't pick up the satellite feed. So I've been reading an outstanding book by Michael Gruber, "The Book of Air and Shadows", a well written mystery. My first time with Gruber--I love his style!
Speaking of wind (weather), and, before I forget it, remember way back in November when it snowed on the 21st, and I said we'd have 21 snows this winter (according to my grandmother)? Well, she was wrong. I counted only 6, deep enough to "track a cat", as they say. I only swept away porch snow once, 3" being the most we had. Amazing.
I still maintain, however, my grandmother was right when she claimed bad things happen in threes!
Peyton Manning leaving the Colts. Big news around here, but I don't care.
Okay, enough. I'm off to see my father and sister (who's watching my grandson today).
