I don't know about the rest of you, but I have a favorite month. Today is the first day of that month. Ah, June!
What's there not to like about June? It's warm, usually sunny. Everything is green and growing.
Birds are singing, rabbits frollicking (at least around my place). I saw 4 white egrets perched in a tree overlooking the nearby pond.
My garden is 95% planted--all but sweet potatoes. Strawberries are picked daily for the next two weeks. Raspberries will soon follow.
We're headed for the "longest day" on the 21st. The more sunshine/daylight, the happier I am. And I like having a tan.
June means great golf weather. For me, the main purpose of golf is exercise. I figure I walk 6 miles in 3 hours (no riding cart for me). The scenery is wonderful, plus I just enjoy the sport. I've golfed since age 13.
Of course, in the days of being a student and then teacher, June meant the beginning of summer vacation. Hurray!
In preparation for my favorite month, I got my "summer buzz" haircut yesterday. No combing my hair. And the gray is not so visible. I can wear shorts and sandals. No socks.
Yes, this is a great month. I plan to enjoy every moment of it. I trust you will, also.
