Favorite Month

I don't know about the rest of you, but I have a favorite month. Today is the first day of that month. Ah, June!

What's there not to like about June? It's warm, usually sunny. Everything is green and growing.

Birds are singing, rabbits frollicking (at least around my place). I saw 4 white egrets perched in a tree overlooking the nearby pond.

My garden is 95% planted--all but sweet potatoes. Strawberries are picked daily for the next two weeks. Raspberries will soon follow.

We're headed for the "longest day" on the 21st. The more sunshine/daylight, the happier I am. And I like having a tan.

June means great golf weather. For me, the main purpose of golf is exercise. I figure I walk 6 miles in 3 hours (no riding cart for me). The scenery is wonderful, plus I just enjoy the sport. I've golfed since age 13.

Of course, in the days of being a student and then teacher, June meant the beginning of summer vacation. Hurray!

In preparation for my favorite month, I got my "summer buzz" haircut yesterday. No combing my hair. And the gray is not so visible. I can wear shorts and sandals. No socks.

Yes, this is a great month. I plan to enjoy every moment of it. I trust you will, also.

Very sad, this is one of the reason that I have not been complaing about the weather here.Way up north in NH they got belted with hail stones.
The storm is all around us.No complain.Look at the poor souls.

You make a good case for the month of June. I can never pick a favorite anything. Just when I decide on a month or a color or a song that might be my favorite, I remember some good quality about one of the other months/colors/songs.

I think that's good to have differing favorites. Flexibility is not bad, but it makes it hard in picking a car color.

As a dog walker I can tell you that I am not as much a fan.. I sweat so much daily that I could probably fill some buckets! Gross, I know, but true. Glad you enjoy!!!

I can understand. You've been having quite a heat spell. Hopefully, it will cool off soon. Think of the exercise you're getting!

June is special to me, too. It's my birthday month, and one of my brother's as well, and the first month of summertime, one extra precious because the hot hot days are not here yet, and the farmers markets start to be filled with gifts and delights from the earth, treats I've been waiting all year for!

For good reason, June should be your favorite month! Isn't it funny how we make birthdays so important. It must go back to childhood memories--a special day and month.

September is my favorite month -- it's not only my birth month, but it's the awakening of the arts in New York City. Everything starts. Suddenly, it seems overnight, the muggy heat of August is replaced with bright, clear, sunny nippy days. The mood hangs on even though I am down here and when it gets cold down here, it isn't a GREAT cold. It's the start of nothing, except maybe, bad crops and there go your plants.

And now we know--reasons and everything. Here's to many more Junes and Septembers.

A summer solstice kid! Cool. I'm close to being a spring equinox boy (Mar 24).

Every month that I wake up is the best month for me though I am partial to February every 4 years!

You know, you should really get over yourself! But every month, heck DAY, is a good one!

June is a great month I agree, but July I even find a better one!

July is a close second. Bring on the sunshine and warmth!

I do not have any,but do think that August is mine.
Why August well the best season falls up on.
Coming in to fall and loved the color that mother nature gives us.
Our garden is all planted and think that our Romaine is ready.
We planted this before leaving on our holiday.
Right now looking forward in hitting the beaches.
Bet you look neat in your Summer buzz.Always loved that type of hair cut.
Enjoy your favorite month.I can tell by your writing that you seemed to be very happy with your felf.Take care.

Yes, I have few complaints (worth anything). And I'm enjoying life. But it can go sour quickly. Like those Mass. tornadoes. Wow.

It is one of my favorites too, although it gets to hot to be out much.

Oklahoma in the summer conjures up visions of searing heat. Even in June. Hope your AC is working now!
