Fall Elections

I have officially decided to ignore all politics for the upcoming elections. I'm sick of it already.

First of all, there's the Obama bashing, as well as the whole Democratic party. The President and his fellow Democrats are doing the best they can to "right the ship". They're bailing out the water with all the power they can muster, but the Republicans keep punching holes in the bottom of the boat. It just makes me furious to listen to them repudiate every move Obama makes, and furthermore, actually blame the president for all our economic woes. It is ridiculous.

Then there is the "Tea Party" movement and its pathetic bunch of candidates. Have you seen and heard that sorry gal in Delaware running for Senate? She makes Sarah Palin look like a genius! The sad thing is, they keep winning.

When Obama got elected, I thought that perhaps my fellow Americans were coming out of the dark ages, that there was hope for our nation and its people. But now, we're right back to where we've been before--ignorant of what got us in all this mess, and unwilling to give the Democrats a shot at correcting many of our ills.

So I'm going "underground". No more reading or watching any political/election news. My sanity (and blood pressure) is at stake.

More reasons why I am a Nihilist. I want to eliminate the two political parties entirely. I am winning!

Yeah, I have to start editing my stuff. You can't fix comments.

Not only a hard thing to experience in your country (elections). Here we had elections last May but ( we have a multy party system here) still no commitment between some parties to make a government .... (btw it looks like we will get a very right wing government here :(

Really? I'm surprised (right-wing govt. for you guys). It's all very depressing.

If the populace who vote bring the republicrats back to power, the populace who elect them will get what they deserve: financial crisis, huge tax breaks for their rich cronies, runaway Wall Street greed, higher unemployment, more exports of jobs and war with Iran.

And all we'll get is a grand "We told you so". They just don't get it. I can't stand it, so that's why I'm ignoring them.

I keep hoping that those of us who are disgusted with the political climate and the destructiveness of the right, will prevail because we are the new silent majority. All the publicity the tea party gets suggests they are a force to be reckoned with but maybe they are just noisy and get ratings and do not have the influence they'd like to think they have. As for the Delaware win, Ed says she has no chance in the general election. That's one reason the Republican Party was so reluctant to celebrate her win. We'll see.

oops-WON, (not one)!!

I hope Ed is right, but she one once. Scares me. And I'd like to think you're right on the "silent majority". Around these parts, there are very few of us.

Awww, come on now, guys (and gals). Back when your man was winning, it was ALL you wanted to talk about. jk

You're as bad as my SIL in Hond.! Are you a Tea Party-ist?
reply by solitaire on Sept 18, 2010 5:56 AM ()
How can you possibly be a Republican?
reply by tealstar on Sept 16, 2010 8:47 PM ()
I know what you mean. I'm tired of it all, too. I'm fast-forwarding through every single commercial, but little bits leak through. If people don't like the president they can just shut up and vote him out next time, meantime, suck it up and be more cooperative.
