"It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood." I feel guilty sitting here at the computer.
But, I'm about to leave and drive down to my daughter's to see them and my grandson (45' drive). They need help harvesting vegetables, so no golf today.
Speaking of which, my game has been lousy up until yesterday. Finally, I played well. I was beginning to think "old age" had hit my golf game.
I treated my one sister to lunch yest. for her birthday. Very disappointed in Pizza Hut--remodeled with a new, but poor salad bar.
My other sister (they're twins) is in Chicago attending her son's family with a boy (2 yrs old) in the hospital with pneumonia. Who knows how bad he is. The parents panic with every little cough or cut. It's right out of "the boy who cried wolf". I'm predicting it's nothing.
Spent a hour or so with my father yesterday. Took him some strawberries and asparagus which he appreciates. He says he's "getting back in shape" walking more and more, regaining his stamina after a winter of hip pain and enphysema. He was in a jolly mood, enjoying life once more.
My garden and yard is looking good. So far, I'm keeping up with it. I've also added about 125 sq feet of bricks to my driveway--bricks that came from a partially fallen old one-room school house down the road. I have to chisel the mortar off of them. Slow process, but looking good.
Ah May! A wonderful month!
