Sitting gazing into the west
Watching the sun slowly set
I've lived another day
Without worry or regret.
Reminded of things in life
That I am thankful for
Family and friends
This and so much more.
The wind in the pines
Watching the trees slowly sway
Feeling the suns warmth
As the sun passes through my day.
Possessions that I don't have
I try not to think about
Would I be any happier
It's something I tend to doubt.
I am not where I am
But it's not something I resent
I have what I need
So I am content.
We live with sadness
Of what was our past
But we need to realize
That sorrow will not last.
I reach my hand out
Just to touch the air
It's a feeling
That I'd love to share.
The colors of the sunset
Blue, yellow, orange, and pink
How it could ever be more perfect
Sometimes it's better not to think.
If I had a wish
One that would come true
To put this sunset in a box
And give it to you.
