The summer came and went
We knew it wouldn't last
It was here and gone
Faded into our past.
The leaves upon the trees
Turned and fell to the ground
Dancing on the wind
And fell without a sound.
The days are shorter
The season will soon turn
Gathered around
Watching the fire burn.
The air will soon be filled
With flakes of snow
Frost upon the window pane
And the embers orange glow.
Colorful lights decorate
Houses all in a row
Singing carols
We love and know.
Kids visiting Santa with lists in hand
Being good, trying hard
Making cookies
Reading a Christmas card.
But soon the spring
Will soon be here
And we will be reborn
It will be another year.
