A Monday Musing ... or Two
I was going to sit on the front porch and do this blog today, but it's a little windy & chilly here. Spent the weekend up in the Adirondacks in Lake Placid, with Saturday being rainy & damp and Sunday was sunny & clear..but windy. I always love going to the Adirondacks, for me it's almost a spiritual experience. There is an awakening of your senses that occur, and there are few places that I have traveled to that give me the same feeling. There is still snow on Whiteface Mountain, though the skiing has long been over. Also passed a couple of ponds that there was still ice on them..a thin layer, but still ice. This month seemed to be the time for anniversary's..and we're not talking about pleasant memories either. Columbine, Oklahoma City, and Waco Texas, and MLK in Memphis TN. I believe that there is a place for these remembrances, especially if you lost a loved one in any of these tragedies. But they also serve as a lesson, something that we all can learn from. The lesson being that we need to treat each other a little kinder, be a better friend and neighbor. Especially in these tough economic times we need to reach out and lend a hand, try to give more of ourselves. Also with so much bad news being played out in the media day to day we need to focus, focus on those people trying to better their little corner of the world in which we live. Which shows that you don't need to try to solve all the worlds problems, just take your little corner and start there. I will also say this here and now..I don't care what kind of dog that President Obama got his daughters. To me that has no interest, simply because it has no effect on the way I go about my day and deal with people. NY's Governor David Patterson wants to allow same sex marriages, he's got a good idea but for the wrong reason. I believe he is trying to bolster support for when he runs for Governor in the next election, after taxing all but the air we breathe( and I believe that's coming soon). Well I think I have said all I want to say for right now, but who knows that might change..but that's it for now, take care.
