He thought he heard her voice
As sweet as a summer song
But he must of been dreaming
For she'd been gone for so long.
He wished she'd come back
But there was little he could do
He wished to turn back time
And Lord how he wanted to.
But the truth was she was gone
A plain, cold hard fact
No matter how hard he prayed
She was never coming back.
He roamed through the empty house
Which seemed less and less a home
Now facing a future
Of living a life on his own.
He still has memories
Of when she was still here
And at night the wind blows
It's her voice that he hears.
He remembers simple things
About how much she cared
Her smile, her touch
And a love they shared.
He stares at the clock on the wall
Wondering when it will end
Waiting, anticipating
To once again to be with his lover,
and best friend.
