I may have not been old enough to remember President Kennedy's promise to land a man on the moon by the end of the decade, but I was able to watch the fruition of his dream. I like many people around the world were huddled around their televisions , watching the events unfold with starry eyed wonder. The images sent back from the moon defied imagination, for I think everybody had their own idea of what existed out there in outer space. Everybody will remember the names Armstrong, Aldrin, & Collins, but no one realizes how many people there were behind the scenes that made that moment a reality. I salute all those that made landing on the moon not only a dream..but an accomplishment that will forever stand the test of time. Of course it also gave birth to the great tag line.."If they can put a man on the moon why can't they (you can fill this part in)".
