This weekend we lost a couple more "good souls". The first was former White House press secretary Tony Snow, he succumbed after a valiant fight with colon cancer. Snow fought a brave battle, showing people he was a man of substance and courage.
The second was Bobby Mercer, who passed after waging his own battle with brain cancer. Mercer who's name will be synonymous with the New York Yankees..as a player and later as an announcer. Mercer continued his announcing duties until his cancer would not allow it.
Both men showed a courage rarely seen in the face of odds that were certainly not in their favor. Both men spoke often of family, and how important it had become in their lives.
I ask that whatever your faith or beliefs be that you take a moment to remember the families that these two men have left behind. For they will be missed.
