Between There and Here

Somewhere in Santa Monica
On a bench by the pier
Or maybe Bar Harbor, Maine
Somewhere between there and here.
Feeling a Fall breeze
Coolness in the air
Warm sun on my face
No worry, no care.
Trying to go through life
Just trying to live
For all I've been given
I'd just like to give.
Strumming a guitar
Wish I knew how to play
Of course,off key
But then again that's okay.
People place importance
On what doesn't get done
When they should worry about
Having a little fun.
Lending someone a hand
Those that need it most
Because its the right thing
Not so you can boast.
Enjoy being who you are
There is nothing to fear
Enjoy the life you lead
Between there and here.

It's fun to picture your imagination taking you to California, warm and sunny, and then instantly to the coast of Maine, especially this time of year.

As always, your poems are marvelous and so is the message.

Sounds as if it's easy, although we know it's not.

Yep I've been on that bench on the beach at Santa Monica and on the beach on the other side of nation on Fort Lauderdale--a lot happened between there and here but as that good old Sondheim song lyrics say "I'm Still Here"!
