When

Half full
Half empty
The glass from which we drink
What we feel, or what we see.
A full life
Or one that is empty
Who we are
Is not what people always see.
For secrets hidden
In shadows dark
The heart hides
Feelings barren and stark.
Looking at life
Thoughts pass through our mind
Pursuit of a happiness
We desperately try to find.
We sit and wonder
Whether or not we've gone crazy
In our endless chase
For the person we want to be.
Struggling with ourselves
Day after day
Trying to get it right
In what we do, and what we say.
Feeling at times
We are perched on a ledge
Maybe, just maybe
Standing to close to the edge.
Hoping, praying
Someone takes our hand
Gives us a direction
Shows us a plan.
But I will tread carefully
Until that day and then
My life will become apparent
It's just a question of..when?

Great poem...it has one of the qualities of good writing...universality. People will relate to it.

You have a wonderful gift there.
I like this line:
My life will become apparent
It's just a question of....when.
This tell me something.
