Vegan and Kid Pics of Course. Ha

Seems far out there, right? I used to think so as well.

In January I joined a Vegan Mentor group, and we met for 6 weeks to discuss things all related to animal welfare and plant based diets. I joined out of curiousity. I was vegan for a few years of my 20+ years vegetarian, but faltered. I was away at school and ate pizza with no cheese and french fries on the regular. Alas this is not a healthy diet. I am doing it differently now!

I am loving being vegan in all aspects. I adored cheese. ADORED it. And never wanted to be without it. Yet I hated hearing the stories of dairy cows being impregnated then having their babies taken away shortly after giving birth in order for humans to take and consume the milk. After having breastfed I can assure you it is NO picnic. I can't fathom having to go through that for another species. It was bad enough knowing it was all for my baby. Anywho! I am at peace now mentally and physically and couldn't be happier.

I have lost 20 pounds as well, which is a bonus. I really was hoping I'd be skinny within months. I mean, NO CHEESE! Alas I am at a stand still but still want to lose about 35 more pounds. Dare to dream.

I shall leave you with pictures of the babies. Miss Skylar is 2 and Sawyer Joe will be 9 months next week.

And Skylar at a Mom's Group outing at a local airport... She loved seeing all the planes!

Happy Thursday all...

20 lbs!!! That is fantastic. Of course, running after two kids all day long will burn calories but I don't think I want to try and lose it that way. Just watching my 3 year old grandson makes me tired. Congratulations on losing the weight!

Thanks for the great pictures and the update. It seems that our culture has gotten more and more broad-minded when it comes to what people choose to eat - we can find restaurant items for Vegans and other dietary lifestyles these days, and the grocery stores are more accommodating.

Congratulations on improving health and losing pounds. I'm doing that too, and yep the first 2 things I had to stop buying were bread and cheese.
