Strange Happs

So this past weekend I went to visit a friend down in NC who has been down in the dumps lately... she is most likely facing a divorce and it's too much for her right now - understandably. It was not a fun weekend, but I think she appreciated the company. It's really hard to watch a person who's world is crumbling around them... and not knowing what to say... and not being able to help...

In other news, I am old. I got an early Christmas gift from the in-laws... a Dyson Digital Slim vacuum. YAY! It's so strange to me that I am so excited about this --- but the fact remains I am ecstatic. I already vacuumed with it! Very strange indeed. But I love it. It's light, cordless and very easy to navigate around objects. Love love love!

Oh, I want that vacuum now! My Dyson's getting old - almost 10 years. A little beat up but still works so well.
And you are doing the best for your friend, by letting her know that you care and that you are there for her. There are no magic words but if she knows that someone in the big bad world cares, it'll make a difference.

Thanks - she is going through such a tough time right now.... I have been vacuuming more with this new light weight tool! I love it! So weird...

We do have those commercials... but it was my in laws that bought it, not the hubby. I told him house cleaning products are a house gift and not an occasion gift when we were first dating.

AND that lingerie is a present for him, not me, to avoid that counting as a gift as well!

It's even worse when a guy gets excited about a vacuum. The mail lady pulled in on Saturday; Donna was at the back of the car in the garage and I went to the truck to get the mail. The mail lady put the envelopes on to of a box that contained a vacuum. She whispered, "she doesn't know that shes getting a vacuum?" I said something followed by, "I'm the house #####, it's mine". Enjoy adulthood: It only happens once!
